STEAM Curriculum Integration

The integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)

At The Duker Academy, robotics is fully integrated into our curriculum to foster creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills through the use of modern technology. Our robust and renowned STEAM curriculum is designed and implemented under the auspices of TinkRworks, an American-based STEAM institution.

Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities are integral to our curriculum and offer invaluable learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Students have the chance to explore their interests, passions, and talents while developing essential life skills and fostering a sense of belonging within the school community.

CHESS CLUB

(eligibility: year 4-10)

The chess club is an engaging extracurricular activity designed for students who are passionate about the game of chess. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a novice, the club offers a supportive environment to learn, play and develop strategic thinking skills.

The Swimming Club is a vibrant extracurricular activity that invites students to explore the exciting world of swimming. This club provides a platform for students to improve their swimming skills, enjoy a healthy lifestyle, and experience the joy of being in the water.

Capstone Projects

At the Duker Academy, our commitment to learning by doing, bringing real-life situations to the classroom, and taking action through community service reinforces our belief in the importance of active, experiential learning experiences that prepare students to navigate complex challenges and contribute positively to society.

CAPSTONE PROJECT 1
Learners will undertake their inaugural project to culminate their primary educational journey. The knowledge and skills acquired throughout their primary education will be harnessed to address a societal problem or seize an opportunity.
CAPSTONE PROJECT 2
Learners will undertake their second project as a transition from lower secondary to upper secondary education. They have the option to either advance their initial project from Grade 6 or embark on an entirely new project
CAPSTONE PROJECT 3
Learners will prepare for their
A-level exams and transition to college or university. As part of their educational endeavours at this level, they will undertake a culminating project in the form of a long essay.

Internship and Practical Skills Development

YEAR 7 TO 11

Our secondary school students in Years 7 to 11 are required to commit themselves to at least a total of 150 hours.

As part of this commitment, students are expected to enrol in a local craft and design enterprise within their vicinity.  A designated portion of their summer break must be allocated to engaging in this initiative. 

YEAR 9 TO 13

students in Years 9 through 13 are required to fulfil a minimum of 120 hours

of internship placement within a multinational or local company of their choosing over the course of four years. This initiative is designed to provide students with a practical introduction to the professional environment and to facilitate connections between theoretical classroom learning and real-world industry practices.
